A tough one days hike

For this hike Joan and me had to get up very early. We meet at 4:45 am ready to go and walked to Bondi Junction train station where we took the 5:30 am train from Bondi Junction to Heathcote. During the one hour train ride we both tried to sleep a bit, the night was very short.
When we entered the park it was sunrise and we got some nice impressions while we were on the Karloo Track. At Karloo Pool we discussed about a swim but decided against it because it would have been very chilly once out of the water. So we continued the track and soon reached the Uloola Falls where we stopped for a snack, and then continued the Uloola Track north wards. A short time after we followed the Uloola Track we saw another hiker on the track, and a wallabie watching him carefully from a clearing not far off the track. In Audley we stopped for half a hour having breakfast, watching Koockadoos sitting in a maple tree with leaves turning brown/red, which made me thinking about the European autumn.
From Audley we went to Little Marley on the coast, following the Coastal Walk south. At Wattamolla we made lunch break, enjoyed the nice view and were fascinated how another hiker made a waterwheel out of leaves and sticks laying around. When we continued walking (two hours later) we enjoyed the beautiful landscape all around us in the evening sun. And at Garie Beach we changed our heads for head lights, preparing for the night walking part of our trip. In the next valley we followed the direction of the sign post, but couldn't find the path continuation between all the huts and had to ask. As it turned out, the sign pointed the wrong direction -into a creek- but the path runs along the beach up a grass covered dune. Once back on track it was easy to continue towards Otford and we arrived just in time for the 9 pm train. Back at home around 11 pm, having a shower and falling asleep tired, but not exhausted.
