Nov-Okt 2008: Visiting my brother
The enormous long summer semester break in Australia (3.5 months) make it possible either to work or to travel around. I used the opportunity and went to New Zealand for a month, enjoying this beautifull country with it's special sceneries on several hikes.
My adventure started in Christchurch, led me once around the south island back to Christchurch, by plain to the capital Wellington and further up to Auckland. On the way there was much to do and see. Special to mention is the knifemaking in Barrytown at the west coast, the Routeburn and Tongariro hikes with all people I met there and who made those hikes unique to me.
